SPU Peacock Pups
Welcome to our team page for DogFest
Many of you reading this post know how much I believe in the mission of Canine Companions for Independence, providing expertly-trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge. Rainer, at 9 months old, is the 8th puppy I've raised for the program, and another five have been raised through the puppy raisers club at Saint Peter's University (hence the team name SPU Peacock Pups). However, it takes about $40,000 to breed the pups, train them, match them with their graduate partners, and then follow the team throughout the dog's working life, and that money has to come from donations. Please support the work of this wonderful organization. You can learn more about them at www.cci.org.
The money raised makes a huge impact on the lives of people with disabilities and helps give a dog a job®.
