Elianna's Mitzvah Madness
Hello, my name is Elianna Ninberg and I am 13 years old. I will become a Bat Mitzvah August 1, 2020. One of the things that comes with being a bat mitzvah is doing a mitzvah. A mitzvah is a good deed that you do for others. My mitzvah Project is to raise money and donate it to Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).
Canine Companions for independence is an organization working to help the lives of people with disabilities. This Non-Profit organization gives people a highly trained dog to help them with day to day things. Before the dogs are fully trained they have puppy raisers to teach them the basic commands. My mom, our co puppy raiser and I have been training these puppies for as long as I can remember. We get them at the age of eight weeks and work with them until they are 18-21 months. Once they know their basic commands they start to work with more advanced commands. After this they will hopefully get paired with someone special just for them. I get so many people asking me how I could give them up after knowing them for so long. The truth is that it is so hard but I know that they will be changing someone's whole life. I am so proud to be part of their amazing journey and a wonderful organization that does good for so many people. CCI has had a huge influence on my life and for the people receiving the dog. They have helped so many people and that is why I want to contribute to CCI with your help. My goal is to raise $1,000. Please join me in changing the lives of people in need one puppy at a time.
