Welcome to My DogFest Page
I am participating in DogFest because I believe in Canine Companions for Independence® and it's mission to provide expertly trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities free of charge...and because I love dogs. I have beein involved with the organization since husband Larry intruduced me to Canine Companions in 1999 when he was with the San Diego Padres. After moving to Boston in 2002, I joined the Northeast Board, and have continued my love and involvement for their work.
Our team of furry friends, including our family's dog Purcell, and I will join other dogs and their owners for a VIRTUAL day of fun and festivities for dogs and humans. Stay tuned for details of the virtual Dogfest show on September 12th via Facebook. It will be an exciting 30-minute production modeled after John Krazinski's "SGN". It will be hosted by NESN's Tom Caron and will be packed with surprise guests and lots of fun videos from teams and individual partipants. Plus, we'll hear from Caine Companions graduates and how their dogs have changed their lives.
Leading up to the event, I am working on adding team members ("Purcell's Pals") raising some money to support Canine Companions. The impact these dogs make on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. If you would like to join our team, or donate online, you can get more of these amazing Canine Companions assistance dogs into the lives of these who need them.
Thanks for your support and for helping to give a dog a job.
