As you know, Paul and I are currently raising our 6th puppy for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), an organization we feel strongly committed to. https://www.cci.org/news-media/videos.html
We believe in CCI and their mission to provide expertly trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge. CCI has been doing this for 45 years and is the largest provider of assistance dogs in the world. ln addition to providing these special dogs FREE of charge to their recipients, follow-up support is also provided FREE of charge to them as well. The total cost to CCI for breeding, training, and graduation, to follow-up services is $50,000 per dog,and demand for these dogs is growing.
To help continue this wonderful mission CCI is hosting a fundraising event called DogFest. DogFest NewEngland is a virtual day of fun and festivities for dogs and humans as well as stories from Canine Companions graduates of how their dogs have changed their lives.
Leading up to the event, I am raising money to support Canine Companions. The impact these dogs make on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. Can you help me get to my fundraising goal by donating online so we can get more of these amazing Canine Companions assistance dogs into the lives of these who need them? I appreciate that finances might be tight for many in these times of Covid, so any small amount is welcome and appreciated. How about $18, a dollar for every month while a puppy lives with a puppy raiser? Or $6, a dollar for every month a puppy is in Professional Training?
Thanks so much for your support and for helping to give a dog a job! :-)
