Macey's Fundraising Page
I'm Macey, a Canine Companions for Indepedence puppy and a miracle in the making! Next to me is our newest trainee, Nixie. She's Venus' kid. I call her Squirt.
My goal is to be selected as a breeder girl like my cousin Venus, and have a few litters of service dog puppies that will go on to do great things for my favorite service dog organization. If I'm not selected as a breeder, I'd like to stay in professional training until I'm good enough to graduate and be placed with a forever person and be their assistance dog. That will be my job!
What will I do? I'll open doors, turn on lights, pull wheelchairs, fetch things, pay for items when at a store, carry bags, pick things up like laundry or toys, help with balance, and give my person the confidence and love that will enable them to be more independent.
Canine Companions for Independence provides expertly-trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge. When we say Give a Dog a Job, this is what we mean.
Each year, we celebrate this wonderful organization by holding an event called DogFest Walk'n Roll - Cleveland. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 22, 2019. Please come and bring your family and your friendly pet dog!
DogFest is a day of fun, festivities, graduate speakers, dog demonstrations, agility courses, food, and more. There are plenty of fun things to do for dogs and kids! The festival day is free for all--although donations are always welcomed.
As you know, Mom underwrites all of my expenses until I leave for professional training. The DogFest Cleveland event raises money for the pups in professional training and beyond.
The impact assistance dogs make on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. I've set a pretty lofty goal, and I'm going to need a lot of help.
You can help by donating online to my page or by coming to the DogFest event. As always, thank you for your support.
Love and wish me luck!
