Welcome to Staicey Scholtz & McGinnis' DogFest Fundraising Page
McGinnis & I recently accepted the challenge of participating in DogFest Cleveland benefiting Canine Companions for Independence® and the amazing work they do to provide highly-trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.
We need your help! Our 9th annual DogFest Cleveland takes place Sunday, Sept. 22nd in Medina, OH and we are walking for those who can't. The money we raise will go towards placing highly trained assistance dogs FREE OF CHARGE to amazing people like DeAnn, Devin, Tammy, Maddie, Dwayne, & Pete. I'm lucky to call these graduates my friends, and am happy the dogs I raised: Elroy II, Ben III, Johnson IV, Feldman II, Kinsman, & Gozon are providing them independence! Please help McGinnis and I raise $10,000 for Canine Companions again this year!
On August 9th, I turned-in Bingham, my 9th Canine Companions pup for professional training. While turn-ins are always hard, Bingham was special because he was named by Brad's parents. My father-in-law & nephew both have this special middle name. I'm blessed they continue to cheer on Bingham and the organization that he'll serve.
McGinnis was named in my honor by my dear friend, and co-raiser, Vicki Simons. As I was stepping down from being President of the Northern Ohio Chapter last winter, Vicki surprised me with the news she submitted the name "MCGINNIS" to Canine Companions as a name for a future assistance dog. Much to my surprise, a BLACK lab from the Feb 2019 M litter received the name McGinnis, then Vicki and I were assigned the honor or raising him.
DogFest Cleveland raised over $100,000 last year. Such an amazing feat considering we raised just $6,000 the first year our Chapter held this fundraiser. Considering the cost of each assistance dog Canine Companions gives FOR FREE to a child, adult or veteran with a disability is $50,000 each, last year's $100,000 fundraising effort will provide TWO expertly trained dogs to recipients in our area. We are super proud all of your donations played a part in this and stayed local!
We hope to meet or exceed that goal this year. As of today, the Northern Ohio Chapter has raised close to $46,000 of this goal. Won't you help Team McGinnis get to $10,000 by making a tax-deductible donation to my page before Sept. 22nd by clicking on our link?
You may be able to double, or even triple, your donation. Check with your employer to see if they match charitable contributions.
Any amount, great or small, helps place these exceptional dogs with exceptional people. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. If you live in the Medina area, please bring your family and pet out to DogFest on the Square this Sept. 22nd! McGinnis and I would love to see you!
Together we can make a difference and give a dog a job!
