Thank you for visiting my personal donation page for my 2018 cycling tour benefiting Canine Companions for Independence. The picture on this page is Wex (the human) and WEXY (the dog). You may remember from last year that our family was honored to have a Canine Companions for Independence puppy, WEXY, named after us. He is being socialized by our dear friend JoAnn Guise, and will move on to professional training in Orlando in the fall. If successful there, he will be matched with a person with a disability to provide support and independence.
This year’s bicycle ride will be a two-day event called the “Cycle North Carolina Mountain Ride” and I expect to ride over 100 miles in mountainous terrain. It will be challenging, so I think I will earn any generous contribution that you would like to make to Canine Companions.
Did you know?
Each Canine Companions assistance dog is specially matched with a person with a disability. The connection and bond that the team has is incredible! These dogs not only open doors, pick up dropped items and turn on light switches, they provide greater independence and an amazing life-time partnership.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift will help open more doors for people with disabilities. Every dollar counts! Together, we can change lives four paws at a times.
