Help me raise $7000 for Canine Companions for Independence for my 70th Birthday!
For the past year-and-a-half, I've been a Puppy Raiser for Canine Companions for Independence. Sage has learned nearly 30 commands and is well on her way to becoming an assistance dog for a veteran, an autistic child, someone with a physical disability or who is hearing impaired. She might also work as a facility dog for a mental health facility or with a first responder or district attorney.
On August 9th, right after my birthday celebrations end, I'll take Sage to Oceanside, CA for advanced training and eventually to be matched with someone who will benefit from having her.
Each Canine Companions assistance dog is specially matched with a person with a disability. The connection and bond that the team has is incredible! These dogs not only open doors, pick up dropped items and turn on light switches, they provide greater independence and an amazing life-time partnership.
Help me make more matches! It costs around $40,000 to raise each CCI assistance dog. I am fundraising because I believe in Canine Companions for Independence and their mission to provide highly-trained assistance dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge.
In lieu of birthday gifts, please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift will help open more doors for people with disabilities. Every dollar counts!
Together, we can change lives four paws at a time.
Thank you!
Elly
